CONGRATULATIONS

To Ashleigh, John, Chris Hodgson and Jessica Mack who competed at the 2009 World Championships held in Philadelphia last week. They proudly represented the Doyle Academy and New Zealand.

Special congratulations to Ashleigh John who got to the final in the 16-17 years Ladies Section and placed 49th.

2009 World Championships

Good Luck and Best Wishes to our 3 students competing at the World Championships in Philadelphia starting April 5th.

Ashleigh John (Current Under 16 NZ Champion) competes Wednesday 8th April in the Ladies 16-17 years section.

Chris Hodgson (Current Senior Men's NZ Champion) competes Friday 10th April in the 19-21 years section.

Jessica Mack (Current Senior Ladies NZ Champion) competes Friday 10th April in the Over 21 Ladies Section.

St Patrick's Day is coming.....

The Auckland St Patrick's Festival is apon us. Our dancers can be seen at the following events this week:

Wednesday March 11th - St Patrick's Fesitval Launch, The Four Nations Pub, Viaduct Quay. 8pm

Friday March 13th - St Patrick's Hooley, St Annes Parish Church, Manurewa. Tickets now on sale. Adults $15, Children & Seniors $10. BYO, Supper supplied. 8.30pm LIMITED DOOR SALES

Saturday March 14th - St Patrick's Day Queen Street Parade, starts at 12pm. St Patrick's Festival Banquet, Langham Hotel Ballroom. 7pm. Tickets available from http://www.stpatrick.co.nz/

Tuesday March 17th - Private Breakfast Function 7.30am, Grace Joel Retirement Village 4pm, The Bog Pub Manukau 5pm, Murphy's Law Pub, Drury 6pm

Speical Delivery

The Doyle Academy is proud to welcome the birth of Caitlin May Doyle Hunkin, first born daughter of Academy teacher Paula Doyle and her husband Chris Hunkin.

 Caitlin was born 1.13am January 22nd 2009 weighing 7 lbs.

Welcome to 2009!

After an extremely successful 2008 for the Academy, culminating with the Christmas Show, our dancers are taking a well earned break to enjoy the summer weather.

However, 3 of our New Zealand Champions have been practising in the summer heat in preparation for the World Championships.

In mid March Chris Hodgson, Ashleigh John and Jessica Mack will head to Philadelphia, USA representing New Zealand to compete.

2009 classes commence February 9th for the rest of the Academy.
